Borealis Artefact 2026: The Legend that Defined our DNA

Borealis Artefact 2026: The Legend that Defined our DNA

A decade of freeride excellence We launched the Artefact back in 2014, and since that first season, it has grown into the backbone of the Borealis range. It’s not just our best-seller; it’s a benchmark for what a high-performance, versatile freeride board should feel like. We designed it for riders who don’t want to choose between carving deep trenches on-piste, hunting fresh lines in the backcountry, or hitting heavy kicker lines in the park.

Born in Chamonix, tested on the world stage The Artefact was forged on the legendary slopes of Chamonix. We developed it with local chargers like Clément Bochatay to make sure it could handle the most demanding terrain on the planet. And the results speak for themselves. Our team riders Marc Robert (currently ranked 2nd on the Freeride World Challenger circuit) and Lou Ruiz won 3 podiums in just 2 competitions riding this exact board. When we say it’s stable, we mean it: it’s built to go fast enough to scare yourself while staying rock-solid underfoot.

Premium engineering and dampening We don’t cut corners on materials. We use a Vibragum polyurethane topsheet that’s been tested against the best on the market to resist to outside aggression. Inside, you’ll find our ultralight Forest Core, a mix of Poplar and Paulownia reinforced with Carbon Power Strips for explosive pop. To make the ride even smoother, we pour Liquid (polyurethane) Sidewalls directly into the core, creating a "velvet" feel even on rough snow.

The Edge Synergy™ advantage Control is everything. Our Edge Synergy technology combines Sidewaves for extra grip on ice with a progressive sidecut and reversed radi contact points. This means the board pivots effortlessly at low speeds, but as soon as you charge and engage the edge, the larger central radius kicks in to provide massive stability. Add to that a high-speed Durasurf 4001 sintered base and a triaxial fiberglass weave, and you have a board that simply swallows everything in its path.

A cleaner way to ride Finally, we care about the mountains as much as the ride. The Artefact is built with a Zero-VOC resin, meaning zero volatile organic compounds. It’s better for the environment and better for the people hand-crafting your board. If you’re looking for the ultimate freeride machine, look no further: this is a decade of French expertise wrapped into one board.
